Dr. Kristen Cheslick is a nationally board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) who continues with clinical practice specializing in adults with serious and persistent mental illness. She has 20 years of experience within inpatient and outpatient settings, including community health, school health, oncology, psychiatric and correctional nursing. She has been instrumental in the curricular development of the nationally recognized online PMHNP program at Wilkes.  

Dr. Cheslick received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing with a specialization in psychiatry from Wilkes University and earned her doctorate from Bloomsburg University. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and maintains professional affiliations with the American Nurses Association and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Dr. Cheslick has been actively practicing yoga and meditation for more than 20 years and has completed in-depth research on its positive effects on anger and impulsivity when implemented in a correctional setting. She is completing a yoga and meditation training program to become a certified yoga and meditation instructor with studies that are focused on trauma recovery and stress reduction.
