Background

My background is in correctional nursing. I've worked there for 13 years, and it was during that time where I noticed that incarcerated individuals were having such a hard time with their mental health or lack of treatment during their incarceration.

Experience with Wilkes

Wilkes definitely exceeded my expectations. They are so passionate about their learning here. The staff work really well with schedules. The faculty here are fantastic with helping you walk through it. It's a family, it's great.

Online Learning and Flexibility

Wilkes' online platform was fantastic for me in helping me achieve my goals. It gave me an opportunity to still work full-time because I have to pay for my own schooling. It helped me enrich my academic success because of that. I went full-time every semester, so that was a really great feature that Wilkes does offer, that it's full-time the whole entire year with no breaks.

Clinical Placement Support

Clinical placement, I was able to be placed. No issues, seamless rotations. It was a really good experience. It eased a lot more than just a little bit of stress, it actually eased most of my stress because clinical placement is one of the hardest parts of the program. The state boards, Wilkes did a fantastic job in helping me prepare, and I feel very confident going into that exam.

Looking Ahead

Wilkes really gave me a solid foundation with leadership skills. They really drive that home. That's part of their integrity here. I will take what I have learned and further my education into their PhD program to help with my research to help the community.
